Aneurysm repair
Thanks to advancements in technology, patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm can now benefit from a less invasive form of treatment.
Aortic stent grafting may now be performed in patients who were previously candidates for open surgical repair. Clinical studies have shown that this treatment is safer for patients, with a lower risk of mortality, less operative blood loss and lower transfusion requirements compared with patients undergoing open surgery. Because patients can return home the following day, the time required for a hospital stay is significantly reduced.
