Radiologists are doctors who have undergone advanced training in medical imaging, which is comprised of a variety of technologies that are designed to look inside the body to help these doctors diagnose disease, assess organ function, detect problems within the body’s musculoskeletal system, and much more.

They are among the most highly trained doctors in medicine, each undergoing a minimum of 10 years of education and real-world training. Interventional radiologists perform minimally invasive treatments—guided by imaging technology—that offer comparable or better outcomes with less risk, a shorter recovery time and virtually no scarring. These doctors require up to 13 years of education and training.
